Outdoordeals.co.za (“Outdoordeals”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit www.outdoordeals.co.za, contact us, subscribe to our emails or place an order, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use our store, we may collect contact and order information such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing and delivery addresses, products ordered and order history.

Payments are processed through Shopify checkout and payment providers such as PayFast. The payment provider’s own privacy terms also apply to the information it processes.

We may also collect website and device information such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, searches, referring pages and interactions with the store.

If you contact us, we may keep the information you provide in connection with customer service, returns, exchanges or other requests.

When you choose to subscribe to our emails, we collect your email address and marketing preferences.

How we use personal information

We use personal information where reasonably necessary to process and deliver orders, take and verify payments, communicate with you, provide customer service, operate and improve the store, protect the store against fraud or abuse, maintain appropriate business and transaction records, comply with legal obligations, and send marketing communications where permitted.

Service providers

We use service providers and Shopify apps to operate our store. Depending on your interaction with us, relevant information may be processed by providers including:

Shopify for our ecommerce platform, checkout and store functionality; PayFast for payment processing; Bob Go, previously known as uAfrica, and The Courier Guy for delivery and logistics; Mailchimp for email marketing and subscriber management when you subscribe; and Zapier and other installed Shopify applications where required for store automation, communication and website functionality.

We aim to share only information reasonably necessary for the relevant service. The providers and applications we use may change as our store and operations develop.

We may also disclose information to professional advisers, regulators, authorities or other parties where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

International processing

Some of our service providers operate or use systems outside South Africa, including in the United States and other countries. Personal information may therefore sometimes be processed outside South Africa.

Where cross-border processing takes place, we take reasonable steps to use service providers and arrangements consistent with applicable privacy law.

Email marketing

If you subscribe to our emails, we may send you PureWild releases, product news, outdoor-related updates and other store communications.

You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or by emailing sales@outdoordeals.co.za.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential communications relating to an order or customer-service request.

Cookies and similar technologies

Shopify and some of the services used on our store may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the store working, remember preferences, understand store performance, support security and, where enabled, assist with marketing.

You can manage cookies through your browser and any privacy controls made available on the store. Blocking essential cookies may affect how parts of the website function.

Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including order fulfilment, customer service, accounting, tax, legal, fraud-prevention and dispute-resolution requirements.

We use Shopify and reputable service providers and take reasonable organisational and technical steps intended to protect personal information.

No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please contact us if you believe information connected with your order or account may have been compromised.

Children

Our store is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate involvement from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us inappropriately, please contact us.
